Does it ever stop raining in Xanadu? This morning I woke up in a puddle of water, my clothes are drenched. Remembering where I am I look around to ensure the owner of the ranch wasn't around so I could slip out without an awkward encounter.
I set off on another unknown journey. I hear a fire crackling nearby, but see no one is in sight. Cautiously I find my way outside the Lagoon Stables iron fence. On the path I headed west towards the beautiful shoreline, my mouth is dry and my stomach grumbles. At the shoreline I tasted the water and surprisingly it tasted fresh. I cupped my hands and drank as much as I could stand. The weather had started to clear up and the sun was shining right on me with an overwhelming warmth. While standing there enjoying the amazing view of Xanadu's coast, I also took time to admire an expertly crafted rowboat with the words "Snail's Pacer" engraved on the side the name of the owner Ayes is also etech on the stern. I can barely make out the signature of its maker, 'En_i'. It has always been a dream of mine to build my own boat, even a simple rowboat. I've loved fishing since I was young, my father would often take me on fishing trips off the north coast of Chaos, he had built his very own Cog and employed an entire crew of lifelong fishermen. I often wonder what had happened to the boat. My father named the ship "By The Pound" as he would often boast that his crew caught more fish by the pound than any other fishermen in Chaos.
I caught myself looking out at the water daydreaming and decided I must continue on to find a place to finally settle down, at least for a couple days. I decide to head Southwest down the shoreline towards an area covered in colorful flags. I eat a brown mushroom as I walk, surprisingly filling. It again starts to rain as I walk on a clay beach, I struggled to walk through the muck. Up the hill I spot multiple giant spiders, a wolf, and yet again another troll. I decide to stay very close to the shoreline. Trying to do so leads me to a path build out of birchwood rafts with a huge aged spider at the far end. I feel trapped, I can't continue this way, I can't go up the path, and walking back where I came from is not an option to me. Then I realize behind me towards the hill that is covered in creatures is blocked off by a Camellia hedge. I decide to take the path while keeping the beasts in sight. As I walked up the path, the hedge was the only thing that separated me from certain death. Even considering this, the old rough cobblestone road felt safe and I even stopped for a moment to admire one of the tallest buildings I had ever seen, also I got a good overlook at the small town built apon clay.
Making my way through town I found myself back down at the shoreline where a statue of a demon had been build. Why would someone put this here? Better yet why would someone build it? It was very creepy and reminded me of the evil troll that attacked me.
Westward down the beach there was a long small island right off of the beach, It looked man made, as if someone had dumped tons of dirt from a boat and created this tiny isle. I decide I want to swim across and see if the island would be a safe place to sleep for the night. I jump in the water and instantly feel weak from the cold water, I don't think I can make it all the way to the other side. Trying to climb up the wet clay bank just exhausted me further.
I can't find the strength to stay above water any longer.
