It is 04:14:47 on day of the Ant in week 3 of the Snake's starfall in the year of 1053.
AHHHH!!
I wake up screaming after a terrible nightmare. I dreamed I was trapped on an extremely small island covered in deadly creatures. I would run from one beast and run straight into another animal that wanted to eat me.
I step out of my tent into the darkness and I was overwhelmed by the view in front of my eyes, the small settlement with the colorful flags was lit up with every color of the rainbow, above the town the night sky glistened with thousands of stars and the planets Jackal and Valrei seemed bigger than I had ever seen them. I stared in awe at this beautiful sight for a few moments before packing up my tent. I had a plan for the day, today is the day I will find a safe place to settle down and start building my own home. I decided I need to find a dense forest near the ocean, that also has a nearby mountain I could go to and mine for rock and iron. Water, Wood, Rock, and Iron are the main resources I need. How hard could it be to find these things in the same place?
It is still the middle of the night but I decide to leave the half baked man made island and head across the water back to mainland. As soon as I get out out of the water I spotted the wild cat from the night before, I took a long way around it hoping to not disturb the cat and this proved successful. Further up the path I find myself head on with the corpse of a huge aged spider next to an old traders hut. I attempt to butcher the spider but. The guards kindly inform me that I am not allowed to do that here since the spider was on someones property. I found myself at a dead end here and took the short walk back to the shore, finding another path heading south along the water I continued on. Up the road I find myself at a large paved clearing, I had found a settlement and a nearby sign read "Wolfpack" I walked through the town admiring the craftsmanship and the gorgeous Hunt Of The Ancients statue depicting a prancing deer in the middle of the town.
As I walk through this village I start to realize why I haven't seen many wild horses, cows, or sheep. They have all of them! These animals we're packed tight in small fenced areas, many of the pins look like they hadn't been cleaned in months. I probably wouldn't admit it to someone but I am green with envy. I would love to have a horse of my own and they have what seems like hundreds! I try to think about something else to avoid feeling further depressed.
I found my way outside of the town and looked out over the empty ocean, I spotted something I somehow hadn't noticed before, A massive Colossus of Vynora facing out towards the western Xanadu ocean, inviting traders and travelers alike. I can only imagine the time and resources that we're spent on this giant statue made of solid rock. With a little bit of motivation from this amazing view I continue on the path heading out of the small ranch village.
Along the road I find the corpse of an aged hell hound reminding me of the danger in the area. Just as I remind myself of the deadly area I find my path blocked by another huge spider. I decide to swim around the bridge he was guarding so I could continue my journey. Once I get back on shore at a safe distance I find a huge chestnut tree and decide to chop it down for its wood. I need to quickly build a fire and cook the meat I have before it goes bad. As I chop the tree into smaller logs the morning sun comes over the horizon and for once I feel positive about the day, I feel like I will succeed in finding what I'm looking for before the day is up. Excited about the rest of the day I quickly carve some kindling for my fire, and get my fire pit set up.
I easily got the fire started and added my ceramic bowl to the flames. Inside the bowl I put the last of my black wolf meat and also all of my herbs. The meat and herbs cooked up pretty quickly and I ate the entire bowl in just a couple minutes, This meal was much worse than my last one but it's better than nothing. I cleaned my bowl in the ocean water next to me and continued on the path, off to the left I spotted an aged pig. Not sure i'm ready for a new companion but I make a makeshift collar and tie it tight around his neck anyways, I pull the pig along with me down the round cobblestone path.
Up the road I find two aged dogs that remind me of my very first companion on Xanadu. I decide to leave the pig behind and tie the collar to one of the dogs instead. As I go to put the rope around the neck of the pooch I am attacked from the side by a huge old spider. Where did he come from?! The spider leaves two small bite marks on my torso. I quickly run to a nearby building and luckily the door was unlock and I was able to get inside safely. The spider is now waiting right in the path forcing me to find another way around him. I was able to find a back way out but then found myself face to face with a brown bear, I had to retreat back to the unlocked building. I now not only feel trapped but I realize I am trapped, the bear blocking the back way out and the spider blocking the path outside the front door.
Eventually the bear walked away from the back entrance to get a drink from the nearby water. This gave me just enough time to slip out and head down the trail. Of course I find that the road is again blocked by another giant spider. I jump in the water and swim around the creature and got back on the road. Further ahead I saw many different animals dead in the path near a guard tower, the stench of death filled the air. I witnessed a ferocious battle between the town guards and a mountain lion as I walked up, they swiftly ended the cats life and moved on to attacking another nearby giant spider. Once they were done I thanked the guards for clearing the way and keeping the road safe. They allowed me to butcher the creatures and I found myself with a sack full of furs and meats.
Continuing on my journey I walk around the tall stone walls of a very small settlement. Around the corner of the walls I see a corpse floating in the water, very ominous. I don't feel any closer to the perfect place to settle I envisioned this morning. Getting very hungry at this point I decide I need to find a place to settle down for the afternoon. .Up the road I find a spectacular settlement filled with spirit templars and town guards. There was a small wooded area nearby and I decided this will be my resting place for the day. Quickly I set up my tent and light another fire. I again cook myself a bowl of mystery casserole mixed with multiple different meats and some herbs I found growing nearby. I engorge the entire bowl in record time and feel my stomach is full for once and decide to take a nap in my ratty old tent.
